Dr. Dino Mendez

Our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice in Illinois is led by double-board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Bernardino (Dino) Mendez. Dr. Mendez completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Illinois Wesleyan University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to attend medical school and complete his General Surgery residency at Loyola University.

After his residency at Loyola, Dr. Mendez completed his plastic surgery fellowship from The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. The University of Texas Southwestern’s Department of Plastic Surgery is one of the most highly-regarded academic medical center-based plastic surgery programs in the world. U.S. News & World Report has consistently named the program at the top of their list for plastic surgery residencies.

Dr. Mendez is well versed in plastic surgery procedures for the face, breast and body. He is a published author and presenter in the field. He a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

Pinnacle is co-founded by our board-certified and highly-experienced plastic surgeon, Jose Rios. The hallmarks of Dr. Rios are his technical precision, unwavering commitment to excellence and charismatic personality. He has earned a reputation as one of the premier plastic surgeons in the area.

Dr. Rios went to college at Princeton University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He then went to New York University School of Medicine to earn his medical degree. He performed his residency and fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern. This residency program is consistently cited by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top plastic surgery residencies nationally.

Dr. Rios established Pinnacle Dermatology in 2004. He started the practice along with board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon, Dr. Paula Lapinski. He has been practicing for 15 years . He currently focuses on reconstructive plastic surgeries. He also specializes in reconstructive plastic surgery after Mohs Surgery for skin cancer. Pinnacle patients who need advanced plastic surgery care are referred to Dr. Rios.

Dr. Gregory A. Turowski

Dr. Turowski is the Medical Director and founder of the New Horizons Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa, a highly successful plastic surgery clinic. New Horizons provides clinic provides the best possible pre and post-operative care, matching both his surgical skills and the expectations of patients.

Dr. Gregory Turowski is one of a few double board-certified plastic surgeons specializing in plastic and cosmetic face and body surgery. He combines a European background with knowledge and technical expertise that he acquired through years of surgical training at the most prestigious American Ivy League institutions: Yale and Harvard. Dr. Turowski completed his general surgical residency and Chief Residency at St. Mary’s Hospital/Yale Medical School affiliated program in Connecticut. He became board certified by The American Board of Surgery. After completing full general surgery training, Dr. Turowski move to Boston to join Harvard Medical School’s plastic surgery training program. He completed his plastic surgery residency and Chief Residency at Harvard, training at one of the nation’s top clinical institutions: Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston’s Children’s Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital. While in Boston Dr. Turowski was a member of the teaching faculty at Harvard Medical School. He has also authored numerous articles and lectures in the field of plastic surgery and wound healing, for which he has received many awards.

Although specializing in cosmetic face and body surgery, Dr. Turowski also has a special interest in reconstructive breast surgery for congenital breast anomalies, post-mastectomy breast cancer reconstruction, and breast reduction surgery. He places special emphasis on minimally invasive, minimal scar endoscopic plastic surgery for the face, body, and minimally invasive hair restoration.
