Rachel Clay, PA-C

Rachel Clay is a Certified Physician Assistant at Pinnacle Dermatology in Manchester, Tennessee.  She first began her education by attending Middle Tennessee State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Minor in Chemistry, with Honors Distinction.  From undergrad to graduate school, Rachel worked for several years as a patient care technician & phlebotomist in the hospital and as well as a medical scribe in the emergency room.  Afterwards, she graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master of Science in Medicine, with a focus in Physician Assistant Studies.  In graduate school, she completed 17 months of didactic work in the classroom and 1 year of hands-on clinical rotations, conducted in various counties across Tennessee.  During rotations, she worked in the fields of Dermatology, Family, Emergency, Vascular Surgery, Mental & Behavioral Health, Women’s Health, Pediatric, and Internal Medicine.  Rachel was personally drawn to Dermatology while rotating with Dr. Nelson at Stones River Dermatology.  Here, she had the privilege of learning a variety of skills which include excisional, shave & punch biopsies, full body skin exams, aesthetic treatments, patient education, and numerous dermatologic medical treatments.  As of August 2024, she is board certified via the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam and has obtained her Physician Assistant Tennessee State License.  By April of 2025, she will have also completed 5 months of one-on-one training with Dermatology PA-C, Lindsay Hayler.  

Mrs. Clay is very excited to be apart of Pinnacle’s team of impeccable dermatology experts and is passionate about their mission to provide exceptional patient care.  She states, “As someone who personally battled with eczema and nodular acne growing up, I understand the struggles patients face when it comes to obtaining healthy skin.  My passion as a provider is to not only improve the patient’s various dermatologic conditions, but also their self-confidence.  I want my patients to feel at home and comfortable when they come into the clinic.  I want them to be willing to bring up whatever dermatologic condition or question that concerns them.   It is my passion to care for my patients not only physically, but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.  I want the patients of Pinnacle Dermatology to know that I am ready and willing to serve them, to help restore their skin to its full potential, and to make lasting relationships along the way.”
