What is Microneedling?

One of the least invasive methods of skin rejuvenation, micro-needling provides gentle resurfacing of the skin using your body’s natural healing response. Using a pen-like device with several sterile needles in the tip, our medical team will move slowly over treated areas, allowing the tiny needles to safely penetrate below the surface. This process creates microchannels in the skin that are nearly invisible to the naked eye, promoting what is known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

Collagen is an important building block of the skin, and when the CIT process is stimulated during micro-needling, existing collagen fibers are tightened and the production of fresh, new collagen begins underneath the skin surface for continuous improvement.

What Does Microneedling Treat?

This comfortable, well-tolerated treatment can help target a wide range of skin concerns, such as:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Dull skin tone
  • Acne and other scarring
  • Enlarged pores
  • And more

Smoothing away visible signs of aging and improving overall skin appearance is a goal that many men and women have, but finding a skin rejuvenation treatment that subtly improves the skin without downtime can be a challenge. At pinnacle dermatology, we offer a wide range of skin rejuvenation options such as micro-needling to help you achieve your aesthetic goals without taking time away from your normal activities.

During your consultation, our medical team will evaluate your individual condition, aesthetic goals, and treatment expectations in order to determine if micro-needling is the best course of treatment for you.

Is There Any Downtime?

One of the best benefits of micro-needling is that it stimulates natural, long-lasting changes in the skin with minimal to no downtime. Treated areas may appear pink or slightly flushed, which is an indicator that the collagen stimulation has begun. The process of resurfacing the skin with new collagen is gradual and may take several weeks, but patients typically return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Our medical team will discuss any other relevant safety information with you during your consultation.
