Dawn Roman was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago. She was in the premier class of the Cook County Hospital Physician Assistant program, which was the first Physician Assistant school in Illinois. She graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Upon graduation, Dawn worked in open heart surgery at Loyola University Medical Center for a short time. She then spent 18 years at Advocate Christ medical center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Her duties as a senior Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant included, the management of post-operative patients in the office and first-assisting in the operative room for adult open heart surgeries.
In 2008, she received the designation “Distinguished Fellow” of the American Academy of Physician Assistants for her professional, teaching, and community involvement.
Dawn is a proficient practitioner. She can examine patients, diagnose, interpret lab tests, prescribe medications and perform dermatological procedures.
Dawn lives in the western suburbs with her three children and standard black poodle. She enjoys time with her children, bicycling, cooking, reading, and in her life before children, she was an avid golfer.
